Invasive species are one of the top threats to native wildlife. One way people can help support native fish and promote healthy waterways is by fishing for invasive species! Join us as we learn the basics of recreational fishing, ethical angling practices, and how we can do our part to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

The free, Learn-to-Fish Clinic will be at Netul Landing, 91427 Fort Clatsop Road, Astoria, Oregon 97103 on Saturday, June 1. The education stations and fishing are open 9am – 1pm. This event will be focused on catching invasive carp.

All fishing equipment will be provided for use during the event. This event is for all ages to learn about fishing. Catch-and-release will be practiced for all native fish. Anglers that are 16 years and older must have a valid Oregon fishing license to fish. Licenses can be purchased at myodfw.com/fishing/licensing-info.

This event is in partnership with the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and made possible in part by a grant from the National Park Foundation.
