Pacific and Clatsop Counties are known for their tourist attractions, but how long has it been since you visited these sites? As a “local tourist,” the Hometown Tourism Day on Saturday, November 11 (Veterans Day), might be just the ticket for you. 

 

Several local sites are working together to offer free admissions and/or other special deals on this day to encourage their neighbors to come and see what they have to offer.  Here is a list of the special activities available for this tenth Hometown Tourism Day.  

 

  • Willapa Seaport Museum – 310 Alder Street, Raymond, Washington – Free admission and souvenir, 12:00-4:00 
  • Willapa National Wildlife Refuge – milepost 24, Hwy 101 and Leadbetter Point, WA - Free, Art Trail and          hiking trails (no dogs), sunrise to sunset 
  • Appelo Archives Center - 1056 SR4, Naselle, WA - Free admission, souvenir, coffee & cardamom bread,           local veterans’ memorabilia exhibit, 10:00-2:00 
  • Knappton Cove Heritage Center - WA, 3 mi E of Astoria Bridge - Free admission, refreshments, 1:00-4:00 
  • Cranberry Museum & Gift Shop – 2907 Pioneer Road, Long Beach, Washington - Free admission, 10:00-5:00 
  • World Kite Museum – 303 W Sid Snyder Drive, Long Beach - Free admission, -10% in shop w/ local ID, 11:00-4:00 
  • Fort Columbia State Park – Chinook, WA – free admission to the grounds including trails, dawn to dusk 
  • Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum – 115 SE Lake St., Ilwaco – Free admission, “Chinuk Ntsayka!” exhibit, 10:00-4:00 
  • Cape Disappointment State Park – Ilwaco, WA – free park entrance, $5 for Interpretive Center, 10:00–5:00 
  • Columbia River Maritime Museum – 1792 Marine Drive, Astoria, OR – Free admission with local ID, 9:30-5:00 
  • Astoria Column – Astoria, OR – Free parking all day, 10% discount in gift shop with local ID, 10:00-5:00 
  • Lewis and Clark National Historical Park - Fort Clatsop- Free admission & ranger programs, 9:00-5:00 
  • Fort Stevens State Park – Warrenton, OR  – Free day use during posted hours including museum and trails 
  • Seaside Aquarium – 200 N. Prom, Seaside – Free admission with donation of two cans of food per person, 9:00-5:00 
  • Seaside Museum & Historical Society – 570 Necanicum Dr., Seaside, OR – Free admission, refreshments, 11:00-4:00 
  • Cannon Beach History Center – 1387 S. Spruce St., Cannon Beach,OR – Free admission, delicious beverages, 11:00-4:00
