Fire Ban in Effect at Lake Roosevelt

Due to extreme conditions, all fires at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area are banned effective August 6, 2007, until further notice.  No open flames are permitted.  This includes but is not limited to charcoal fires, tiki torches, incense burners, etc.  Exceptions include:  1)self-contained propane stoves; and 2)portable propane campfire units that are UL (Underwriters Lab) approved and located 10 feet from vegetation and logs.
