Federal Register: Request for Nominations for the National Park Service Alaska Region Subsistence Resource Commission Program

The Kobuk Valley National Park and Cape Krusenstern Subsistence Resource Commissions (SRCs) are essential co-stewards of the National Park Service. SRCs were established to ensure local voices and perspectives are included in the management and regulatory process. Over the years the Kobuk Valley National Park and Cape Krusenstern National Monument SRC have informed changes to wildlife regulations, provided insights to changes in the arctic habitat, offered suggestions to mitigate and resolve user conflicts, and much more.

Subsistence Resource Commission members for Cape Krusenstern and Kobuk Valley SRCs must be primary residents of NANA region: Ambler, Buckland, Deering, Kiana, Kivalina, Kobuk, Kotzebue, Noatak, Noorvik, Selawik, and Shungnak. Please forward to community members who may be a good fit. Thank you!

Individuals interested in serving as members, including current members whose terms are expiring, must follow the same application process. Applications should be typed and should include a resume providing an adequate description of the applicant's qualifications.
