The fourth annual Knife River Indian Villages NHS Kid's Camp gets underway July 5th. We invite youth ages 6-12 to participate in special activities at the park from 1 pm to 4 pm every Tuesday in July. Each Kid's Camp session focuses on a different theme. The first Kid's Camp theme is bison. Children can participate in one session or all four weekly sessions of camp. For safety reasons, those who wish to participate in canoeing on the 26th must have already attended at least one other week. The activities for each Tuesday will begin at the 7 Trails Trading Post, located just south of the park, and end at the Knife River Indian Villages NHS visitor center. Parents please call and register your child in advance.

According to Superintendent Wendy Ross, "This year's Kid's Camp will offer a variety of fun and educational activities for children. We invite children to learn about the Plains Indian Culture while experiencing the park in memorable ways."

To register for camp or for any questions, please contact the park at (701) 745-3300 ask for Faye or Craig.

Mark your calendars! The 2011 Northern Plains Indian Culture Fest will be held this year on July 30th and 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT.
