CALUMET, MI — The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission will convene for its regular quarterly meeting at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. The meeting will be held in-person at the Keweenaw National Historical Park Headquarters building, located on the corner of Red Jacket Road and Hwy. US-41 in Calumet, and virtually over Zoom.
The meeting will include an update on the work of the Commission and the National Park Service during the last quarter, discussion of plans and projects to be undertaken in the upcoming quarter, as well as questions, requests, and comments from members of the public. Additionally, a presentation on 3D scanning of the Quincy Smelter’s dockside warehouse will be given by students from Michigan Tech.
The Keweenaw NHP Advisory Commission, paneled by citizens appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, represents the public and works collaboratively with the National Park Service to advise and assist with managing the resources of Keweenaw National Historical Park. Agendas and minutes are available upon request to the Executive Director, Sean Gohman, over phone / email and can be found at the park’s website. The Commission’s quarterly meetings are open to the public.
