The commemoration will begin Thursday evening with an opening ceremony at the park. On Friday visitors can experience living history demonstrations, battlefiled tours, and much more. Visitors can explore the park and learn about soldier and civilian life during the Civil War, see living history demonstrations and go on battlefield hikes iwth National Park Service rangers and volunteers. Saturday's programs will culminate with the rededication of the Illinois Monument and the lighting of 3,400 luminaries in honor of the lives lost at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Sunday, June 29, 2014
Programs will continue throughout Sunday at sites around the park. The 150th commemoration will culminate on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. with a closing ceremony featuring musical performances and special speakers, including the keynote program by Rebecca Burns. Download Sunday's program.
