Tekαkαpimək Contact StationThe Tekαkαpimək Contact Station is located approximately 14 miles west of Sherman, ME off Swift Brook Road.Audio DescriptionThere are three video screens playing images of the river, canoeing the river, and a slideshow of images of northern Maine with someone singing in a Native language. Audio description is not currently available anywhere in the monument for either video or print information.TactilesThere are a number of tactile objects in the contact station, including a few indigenous carved talking sticks, a carved walking stick, models of birchbark canoes, a fishing spear, a sculpture of a salmon, and an indigenous carved bear out of stone.AudioThere are a few audio-only exhibits in the contact station.
