Digital Experience: Anza Expedition Through The Eyes of a Child

March 02, 2018 Posted by: Lizzet Pineda
We're happy to announce a new way to digitally experience the Anza Trail! Our 2017 Latino Heritage Intern, Lizzet Pineda, has created a series of Story Maps about the trail. We'll be rolling them out over the next few months, sharing some popular and lesser know areas that make up the Anza Expedition.

What is a Story Map?
A Story Map is an online web application created by that let you combine authoritative maps with narrative text, images, and multimedia content to share a story. We can think of no better story than all of the stories that make up the legacy of the Anza Expedition.

Anza Expedition Through The Eyes of a Child
While many know of the Anza Expedition through the perspective of Anza and Font as they kept detailed diaries of their experiences along the perilous journey, there were many families and children who experienced the over 1500 mile journey to Alta California as well. To help you see and experience the Expedition through children’s eyes in 1775-1776 take a look at the digital story map.
