Join Liz and Dr. Aimée Thomas on a hunt for insects at City Park in New Orleans!

 

Materials:

Activity Focus:

  • Outdoor space
  • Long pants (to protect you from biting insects)
  • Container with a lid

  • Magnifying glass

  • Practice your observational skills to find critters and then analyze them to discover what they are.

Instructions:

  1. Now that you watched the video, go outside and do it yourself! Use the different tactics that you learned from Dr. Aimée Thomas.

  1. Once you have collected and identified insects, then release them so they can continue thriving outside. If you would like a more permanent way of remembering your critters, then document them by drawing or taking photos of them.
