Due to a lapse in appropriations, plans for the Arch 60th Anniversary have changed. Please visit www.gatewayarch.com/60th for updated information.

Join Gateway Arch National Park for a special three-day celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the Arch’s completion, with events scheduled on Saturday, October 25, Sunday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 28. On October 28, 1965, the final piece of this magnificent monument was put into place, and we're celebrating with a weekend packed with free activities, special guests, and unforgettable moments.

Sign a giant birthday card for the Arch, take a fun photo as a park ranger, junior ranger, or Arch builder, and help us build the Arch with giant blocks. These activities and more are free to attend! For a complete experience, consider purchasing tickets for the Tram Ride to the Top, Virtual Reality, Documentary Movie, and Riverboat Cruises.

Don't miss out on this historic celebration!

Saturday, October 25: Builder’s Day

On this special day, we honor the people who built the Gateway Arch. Meet some of the original builders, hear their stories, and have the builders autograph a commemorative poster from 10 am to 12 pm in the tram lobby. The day also features a Just Breathe STL Yoga led by The Collective at 10 am outside under the Gateway Arch and a spectacular firework show presented by Visit Missouri and Gateway Arch Park Foundation over the Mississippi River at 7 pm.

Head over to Kiener Plaza following the fireworks, where Nine PBS will host a free outdoor screening of Percy Green: Man of ACTION, a new documentary directed and produced by St. Louis filmmaker Joseph Puleo. The film explores Green’s decades of activism, from his daring 1964 climb up the Arch in protest of racial discrimination, to his ongoing fight for justice and equality today.

Sunday, October 26: Family Day

Enjoy a high-flying performance from Circus Harmony’s St. Louis Arches at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm held at the entrance plaza, or inside on the mezzanine in case of inclement weather.

Tuesday, October 28: Gateway Arch’s 60th Birthday

Join us on the exact day the Gateway Arch was completed 60 years ago! The day is filled with crafts, activities, and performances. The Columbia, IL high school band performs at 9:30 am, and the Scott Air Force band performs from 10 am to 2 pm. Artist Jillian Kaye will be available to create sketches of visitors from 10 am to 2 pm. Celebrate the 60th anniversary by taking a Tram Ride to the Top on this date. You'll become an exclusive member of the Tram Ride to the Top Club, receiving a commemorative button and certificate. Please note that a ticket purchase is required for the Tram Ride, and we highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance as they are expected to sell out.
