How Do I Pay Entrance Fees Online


Entrance Fees may be paid online at any time prior to your Isle Royale trip.

  1. Access the Isle Royale NP Season Pass Fee Form or the Isle Royale NP Individual Daily Pass From on www.paygov.
    1. The Isle Royale Season Pass works for the pass holder and up to 3 additional adults traveling with the pass holder.
    2. If your daily party fees total greater than $60, the Isle Royale Season Pass is the cheapest option.
  2. Click on "Continue to Form" (button in lower right corner).
  3. Fill in your personal information, transportation arrangements, and payment information.
  4. Submit payment.
    • Credit Card (preferred)
    • Paypal
      • Refunds are only available for 180 days, per PayPal refund policy. If you pay using PayPal and your plans change, contact the Houghton Visitor Center immediately at (906) 482-0984.
    • Amazon Pay
      • Refunds are only available for 60 days, per Amazon Pay refund policy. If you pay using Amazon Pay and your plans change, contact the Houghton Visitor Center immediately at (906) 482-0984.
    • Bank Account (ACH)
      • Refunds are only through bank direct deposit. Significant paperwork is required.
  5. Upon submission, you will receive an email confirmation from Pay.gov.
  6. Upon Isle Royale arrival, to show proof of payment, present your receipt to staff. Print out your receipt or electronically show your email receipt using a smart phone.

Federal Recreation Pass (Annual, Military, Senior, Access, and Volunteer) cannot be purchased through www.paygov. If you would like to purchase these passes online, all federal recreation pass purchases are completed through the United States Geological Service Website.

 

Entrance Fee Refunds

Uh oh. Something came up. Your plans changed. You're no longer able to travel to Isle Royale. Can entrance fees paid in advance be refunded? Absolutely.

  • Refund requests for a trip that has not occurred are honored without question.

  • Refund requests for a trip that has already ocurred will require additional information and additional approval.

How to Request a Pay.gov Refund

  1. Find your Pay.gov receipt.

  2. Contact the Houghton Visitor Center

    • Phone: (906) 482-0984. Locate the Pay.gov ID on your receipt.

    • Email: Forward your Pay.gov receipt with your Pay.gov ID to isro_parkinfo@nps.gov. A park ranger will respond to your refund request.

How to Request an In-person Visitor Center Refund

  • Find your register receipt. No refunds are possible without your physical receipt.

  • Contact the Houghton Visitor Center

    • Phone: (906) 482-0984.

    • Email: Contact isro_parkinfo@nps.gov. A park ranger will respond to your refund request.

    • A physical receipt is required. You may email, mail, or stop by the Houghton Visitor Center to provide the receipt to rangers.
