About the Artist

Kimberly Mullarkey was an Isle Royale Artist-in-Residence from July 7th to July 22nd, 2009. She works in several mediums but has been working with colored pencils and oils since 1986. She currently teaches part-time and leads workshops.

She received her BFA in drawing and printmaking from University of California, Santa Cruz and her MFA from Northern Illinois University. She studied early Northern Renaissance painting while living in France for six months. She leads trips to fulfill her love of traveling.
