About the Artists

Tucson poets Wendy Burk and Eric Magrane have written poetry together in wilderness environments as Artists-in-Residence in three National Parks. They came to Isle Royale from August 7th to August 29th, 2001.

Eric teaches human and cultural geography at New Mexico State University and is the editor of Spiral Orb, an online experiment in permaculture poetics. Learn more about Eric on his website. Wendy is Library Specialist at the Poetry Center and is the author of Tree Talks: Southern Arizona. She received a 2013 National Endowment for the Arts Translation Projects Fellowship and a 2015 Artist Research and Development Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
