Prepare for Fun at Howling Homestead With Bats Bugs and Astronomy Club at Homestead National Monument of America

Homestead National Monument of America has the countdown rolling for Howling Homestead 2015! This annual event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on October 24, 2015 at the Homestead Heritage Center. Register for the evening's events upon arrival and if you are one of the first 100 kids, you can receive a FREE pumpkin!

Joining us for this evening of activities, cookies and hot cider: our very own Midwest Archaeological Center from Lincoln; members of the Beatrice Public Schools acting and singing; University of Nebraska students with bat and insect activities and demonstrations; the Prairie Astronomy Club bring stars to Earth;Master Naturalists with animal furs and skulls as well as the Raptor Recovery Center with feathered friends!

Many of the evening activities will be outdoors, so please dress for cool weather. We won't try to be scary. The event is appropriate for all ages. Please leave your costumes at home.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and9 a.m. to 5 p.m.on weekends. Admission is free of charge.
