October 8 is Senior Skip Day At Homestead National Monument of America

Beatrice, NE –Humana Inc, official health care sponsor of the National Park Service Centennial and National Park Foundation, premier partner for the Find Your Park movement, will host Humana Senior Skip DayTM on October 8, 2015. People 62 years of age and older are encouraged to skip out on their normal, daily routine and enjoy a healthy day in one of America's National Park Service sites. 

Humana will also offer up to 10,000 free vouchers to exchange for lifetime access to the national parks with the Interagency Senior Pass. People 62 years of age or older can download the voucher online through the HumanaSeniorSkipDay.com website and can redeem the voucher at Homestead National Monument of America or any National Park Service site that issues The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass. The lifetime pass is always available at Homestead for a $10 fee. To download the lifetime pass voucher and find out more about Senior Skip Day, visit HumanaSeniorSkipDay.com.

Homestead will also offer a ranger-guided prairie walkOctober 8 at 2:30 p.m.  Join a ranger for a one hour stroll through the tall-grass prairie and burr-oak forest to learn about these unique ecosystems and the history of the Homestead Act of 1862.
