BEATRICE, NE –Homestead National Monument of America wraps up celebrating National Park Week with Susan Werner in concert on Sunday April 26, 2015 at 3 p.m.at the Homestead Education Center. This free concert is provided in partnership with the Lied Center's "Arts Across Nebraska" and made possible through the generous support of the Hevelone Foundation.

Commissioned by the Lied and UNL's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Werner's newest album "Hayseed" celebrates the language, livelihood and concerns of American farmers. The tender song "Something to Be Said," inspired by her previous visits to Nebraska, is at the heart of this moving, funny and thought provoking album. Susan will be joined by musicians Trina Hamlin and Natalia Zukerman.

"Telling the story of farm life through song is an engaging way to tell Homestead National Monument of America's story. We are very excited to welcome Susan Werner in concert at Homestead National Monument of America." stated Superintendent Mark Engler. The Lied Center's "Arts Across Nebraska" is a Lied Center program made possible with the support of the Friends of Lied, Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Rural Futures Institute at the University of Nebraska, Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation, UNL Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Rebecca R. Anderson.

The Susan Werner Concert is part of the National Park Service's #FindYourPark Campaign.Find Your Park invites the public to see that a national park can be more than a place -- it can be a feeling, a state of mind, or a sense of American pride. Beyond vast landscapes, the campaign highlights historical, urban, and cultural parks, as well as the National Park Service programs that protect, preserve and share nature, culture, and history in communities nationwide.
