Join park rangers and volunteers for the Hedge Apple Festival on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2:00 –4:00 p.m.at Homestead National Monument of America to have fun with hedge apples! This fun event will begin with hedge apple crafts and games at 2:00 p.m.at the Homestead Heritage Center. See who creates the most exciting and unique creation using the provided hedge apples and craft supplies! After that, kids and visitors of all ages can join in on the Homestead Hedge Apple Games, a series of fun activities outside near the Palmer-Epard Cabin. Games will include a hedge apple on a spoon race, hedge apple bucket toss, and more! This event is free and offers exciting fun for the whole family! "Homestead National Monument's Osage orange hedgerow is often overlooked by visitors, but the Hedge Apple Festival celebrates this unique tree and its fruit!
