Come celebrate Homestead National Monument of America's 80th Birthday on March 19, 2016, with a day of FUN activities. Get jazzed with the high energy music of the Bathtub Dogs men's choir from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.See extreme Lego builders creating displays like the Nebraska State Capitol, steam engines, a railroad coaling station and many more. Come eat cakes built and decorated to look like the Freeman School and the Palmer-Epard Cabin! Try your hand with the Aksarben Amateur Radio Operators in communicating throughout the United States.Be a part of the debut of the Barn Quilt Quest webpage and learn how you can explore southeast Nebraska through these fascinating quilt squares. All events are free of charge!!

10-3 –Lincoln-Omaha Adult Lego Builders at the Heritage Center

10-4 –Aksarben Amateur Radio Operators at the Education Center

1:00 –Debut of Barn Quilt Quest and Dedication of a painting of Homestead for the Nebraska Sesquicentennial

1:30 –Eat 3-D Birthday Cakes at the Education Center

2:00 –Bathtub Dogs men's choir from University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the Education Center

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska or 45 miles south of Lincoln, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The trails are open from dawn to dusk.Admission is free of charge.
