Join us Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. for the next installment of the Centennial Film Festival at Homestead National Monument of America's Education Center. This year the festival is featuring popular movies filmed at National Park Service sites across America.
February 13 and 14 the festival will showcase Escape from Alcatraz. Alcatraz was the most secure prison of its time. It was believed that no one could ever escape from it, until three daring men made a possible successful attempt at escaping from the most infamous prison in the world.
"Alcatraz Island is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area in California.Golden Gate is a unique National Park Service area in that it is comprised of multiple sites that also include, but are not limited to, Muir Woods National Monument, Fort Point National Historic Site, Presidio of San Francisco, and the Marin Headlands - all found in or around San Francisco, California," stated Superintendent Mark Engler.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska and 45 miles south of Lincoln.
