Celebrate the Centennial of the National Park Service at Homestead National Monument of America with Catherland,the Musical! There are two program times for this special program;Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2:00 pm –4:00 pm, and Monday April 25, 2016 from 10 a.m. –noon. Both programs will be presented at the Homestead Education Center. Catherland is billed as "a new Nebraska ghost musical." The production takes a minimalist approach to staging, focusing on storytelling through song.Cast members include Eric Moyer, Sasha Dobson, Natalie McClue, Tyler Hale, Robin McKercher, and Melissa Epp. Writers Becky Boesen and David von Kampen are two incredible artistic talents. Boesen is a working playwright, actor, director and producer. As a two-time winner of the Mayor's Arts Award, she serves both administrative and artistic roles at the Lied Center and is an adjunct faculty member at Doane College. David von Kampen is a composer whose creative work spans a wide variety of genres and styles. He has over forty choral and instrumental composition and arrangements published and is currently an adjunct professor of composition at Concordia University. This Arts Across Nebraska program, sponsored by the Lied Center for Performing Arts, strives to provide quality art programs to greater Nebraska residents, especially youth. One goal is to introduce youth to the arts to instill an appreciation of the arts.Catherlandis supported by the Nebraska Arts Council and Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Friends of Lied, the Rural Futures Institute at the University of Nebraska, and Friends of Homestead.
