Homestead National Monument of America is hosting the Prairie Visions Photography Festival on Sunday September 25, 2016 at Homestead National Monument of America's Education Center from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Photographer Matt Elwood will lead a discussion on taking good photographs.

Learn how to integrate photography basics such as lighting, composition and subject matter into everyday photography, both indoor and outdoor. As an event and portrait photographer, Elwood specializes in complex and on-the-go photography skills which can be carried over across a diverse range of scenarios, such as wildlife, portrait and landscape photography. With over 13 years of professional experience, Elwood travels around the world learning, "A good camera takes a great photo but it can also take a bad photo. The person behind the camera can be trained."

"We are excited about having Matt Elwood at Homestead to share his photographic knowledge and hope participants will share their photographs of the park with others," said Superintendent Mark Engler. "The prairie is particularly beautiful this year."
