Art in the Park is POSTPONED until further notice.
Art in the Park
Saturday, April 18, 2020 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Free of charge
Celebrating George Washington Carver’s love for art, this event features local artists at work across park grounds. Visitors may participates in hands-on demonstrations and instructional workshops with pastels, natural dyes, pencil, watercolors, clay, and more. Kids can earn a special “Art in the Park” Junior Ranger badge.
This year’s featured/guest artist is Linda Teeter, Urban Art Gallery Joplin. Linda is an awarding-winning artist and is a longtime leader in the Joplin area arts community.
Art in the Park is free of charge!
Call for Artists!
- Artist needed for plein air painting, conducing art workshops for the public, or both.
- Set up at location of your choice across park grounds.
- Display artwork and share business cards (but no sales).
- Gain inspiration from the natural setting of George Washington Carver's childhood home.
