What is a Junior Ranger?

A junior ranger is someone who visits national park sites and participates in fun activities—often using an activity book—to explore and learn about a park’s natural, historical, and cultural features. Becoming a Junior Ranger is a great way for kids and families to learn and have fun at national parks like Gulf Islands National Seashore!

How do you become a Junior Ranger?

At Gulf Islands National Seashore, kids ages 6 through 18 can receive the Gulf Islands Junior Ranger Activity Book to explore, learn about, and have fun at their national park. As a special thank you for your participation, each kid will be awarded a Gulf Islands Junior Ranger badge!
