Visitor Center Interior and Park Store Closed for One Day on September 27
The Great Sand Dunes interior space of the visitor center including exhibits and the Western National Parks Association (WNPA) park store will be closed on Monday, September 27 so WNPA can complete an inventory of store merchandise.
The visitor center restrooms in the lobby will be open from 9am to 4:30pm. Park rangers will be available to answer questions outside, in the front of the visitor center. The park store and interior exhibit space will reopen on Tuesday, September 28 at 9a.m.

COVID-19 Mask Requirement
Consistent with CDC guidance regarding areas of substantial or high transmission, visitors to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask inside all park buildings.
Interactive touch exhibits, movie room, and fine art display are closed
There is limited capacity in the store and exhibit area
The visitor center is open 9:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Closed 12-1 daily for cleaning
The Great Sand Dunes Visitor Center currently features:
- Park store with wide selection of books, postcards, magnets, T-Shirts, posters, and more (simple snacks, no beverages)
- Back porch with viewing scope
- Restrooms and drinking water
- Rangers to answer questions and help you plan your visit
The visitor center is open every day, year-round
(except closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day).
