This trail is accessible all the way to Battery Davis, past Battery Davis the trail becomes steep and may be covered in sand. The surface is paved asphalt. Along the trail you will encounter a couple resting areas which include accessible benches and/or usable picnic tables. The accessible portion of the Sunset Trail is approximately 1/3 of a mile in length.

To the west of the parking lot you will find an accessible raised boardwalk which leds to a beautiful overlook. Here you can take in breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and hang-gliders sailing in the sky. The overlook includes accessible benches. For more information on hang-gliding please contact our park partner Fellow Feathers of Fort Funston. This park is heavily used by off-leash dogs.
