Fort Sumter Visitor Center Restrooms Close for Water System Replacement

The National Park Service will close the regular public restrooms in the Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center at Liberty Square starting on Monday, November 4, 2013 to replace the failing water pumping system. The work is expected to take three to four days. Two portable toilets will be available, including one accessible to disabled visitors. The Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center is located at 340 Concord Street in Charleston, next to the South Carolina Aquarium.

Fort Sumter National Monument is administered by the National Park Service. Along with the fort in Charleston Harbor, the monument includes the Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center at Liberty Square in Charleston and Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island.
