Fort Pulaski Presents the Student Art Exhibition: “The Impacts of Change”

SAVANNAH, GA – Fort Pulaski National Monument is proud to announce the installation of a new temporary art exhibit in historic Fort Pulaski entitled “The Impacts of Change.” This art installation, completed in partnership with the International Fiber Collaborative (IFC), encouraged students throughout Georgia to create artwork highlighting
the many changes Fort Pulaski has witnessed during its vast history on Cockspur Island and what the future has in store.

Nearly 300 student artists from 16 different Georgia schools created art for this exhibition. Each of the more than 50 pieces represents the student’s unique perspectives regarding the theme. Oglethorpe Charter School, Richmond Hill High School, Richmond Hill Middle School, Saint Marys Elementary School, Screven Elementary School, Shuman Elementary School,
Southwest Middle School, Statesboro High School, Tybee Island Maritime Academy

The IFC was formed to create deeper learning experiences through art, collaboration, and cross-curricular-themed programming for individuals and their communities. They develop and promote community programs that create collaborative opportunities in art and civic engagement that link learning and creativity in the arts to science, math, engineering, and the humanities. Public programming has been a catalyst for creativity in health care facilities, libraries, schools, museums, and other locations. Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah. Hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week. An entrance fee of $10.00 per person is charged for visitors 16 years old and older.
