Savannah, GA - Fort Pulaski National Monument will commemorate African American History Month by sponsoring a special cultural presentation on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Geechee Kunda will provide a one-hour presentation reflecting the culture, history, and heritage of the Gullah people of coastal Georgia. Featuring a musical opening by the Bokai Steel Drum Rhythm Band, the program will include a historical presentation by The African Spirit of Dayclean and an interactive, comedic performance with ista Bithia. There will also be a display of Savannah African ironworks with blacksmith Gilbert Walker. -NPS- |
