SAVANNAH, GA – Due to projected tidal flooding along U.S. Highway 80, Fort Pulaski National Monument will delay opening on Saturday November 16 and Sunday November 17, 2024. The National Monument will open to the public at 10:00 AM on both November 16 and November 17, 2024. The park anticipates returning to normal hours beginning on Monday November 18, 2024.

Tidal flooding will also close Fort Pulaski National Monument hiking trails during the weekend, including the Picnic Area Nature Trail and the Cockspur Island Lighthouse Overlook Trail. Visitors should avoid using closed trails and monitor local information sources (including Chatham County Emergency Management and Tybee Island Police Department updates) regarding potential closures of U.S. Highway 80.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah.
