Fort Pulaski National Monument Candle Lantern Holiday Tours Available Online with Recreation.gov on December 8th

SAVANNAH, GA –On December 8, 2023 at 10:00 A.M., reservations for Fort Pulaski’s Candle Lantern Holiday tours will be available through Recreation.gov. Celebrate the holiday season with a trip into the past on Friday, December 15th and Saturday, December 16th. The long-lived Savannah tradition returns with night-time tours of the fort by candlelight and oil lamps. Visitors will have the unique experience of an evening guided tour, the chance to sample hot cider, eggnog, and cookies, sing a Christmas carol or two and catch a nighttime cannon firing. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about the past and celebrate the festive season.

Beginning this year, the park is offering the Candle Lantern Holiday tour tickets online through Recreation.gov to simplify the reservation process for visitors. Recreation.gov is a government service and the travel planning and reservation system for 13 federal agencies, including the National Park Service. Recreation.gov is a valuable tool that helps federal agencies provide a streamlined reservation service for the public.  

Tickets for Fort Pulaski’s Candle Lantern Holiday tours will be available for purchase on Recreation.gov starting on December 8, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. ET. The Candle Lantern Holiday tour fee will be $10 per adult (16 and older) and $1 per child (15 and younger). Interagency passes will not be accepted for this event. All visitors must secure their reservations through Recreation.gov and will show their digital or printed ticket confirmation at the park entrance station. Six programs will be offered each evening at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, & 8:30.
