SAVANNAH, GA – There will be a filming permit in effect in the park near the entrance station and bridge area from Monday, November 28th to Wednesday, November 30th. While the park will remain open to the public during these permitted filming activities, there will be the potential for traffic delays to and from the park.
The largest impacts will be felt on Tuesday, November 29th between 9:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has approved intermittent closures of Highway 80 that may last 3–5 minute, every 10 minutes near the park entrance. Traffic control will be directed by Chatham County Police Department and impact both east and west bound lanes of Highway 80.
In the park, one lane on the entrance bridge will be closed and alternating traffic will be utilized to allow traffic to move into and out of the park. The entire entrance station area of the park will be affected by props, crew, and filming equipment. Parking or fishing near the entrance station and bridge areas during the filming permit will not be allowed.
The park will operate on normal operating hours and entrance fees will be collected from the visitor center on all three days. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.
