SAVANNAH, GA – Fort Pulaski National Monument invites you to help clear and clean the Lighthouse trail and the Lazaretto Creek Boat Ramp areas on Saturday, September 24, 2022, for our National Public Lands Day event. These areas provide various recreational opportunities for visitors - from the casual hiker and trail biker to watercraft users and fishermen. Efforts during this event will focus on clearing and cleaning up these areas to keep them in good, usable condition for park guests.

National Public Lands Day 2022 is a great day to get out and give back to your National Park. Trail restoration and maintenance keep parks and other public lands healthy and enable visitors to enjoy the health and recreational benefits of these special places now and in the future. All National Park’s will waive entrance fees for this special day.

This event is limited to only fifty (50) people and pre-registration is required. For additional information and to sign up, please visit our Eventbrite page Here.  The event is expected to last from 7:30 am until 11:30 am and will end with a luncheon for participants. Typical trail maintenance activities include cutting overgrown vegetation and cleaning light trail debris. This is a family- friendly event with work for people of all ages and abilities.

THINGS TO BRING: Water, appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes, bug spray, sunscreen, work/ gardening gloves and eye protection if you have them.
