Wednesday Cannon Firings at Fort Pulaski National Monument

SAVANNAH, GA – Starting June 1st, Fort Pulaski National Monument will offer cannon firings on Wednesdays throughout the summer season in June and July. Learn about the destructive power of artillery in the American Civil War and how the Battle for Fort Pulaski led to the emancipation of countless freedom seekers in the surrounding Savannah area.  

Your senses will be overloaded with history as you’ll be able to see, hear, and smell the National Park Service’s largest fully functional reproduction cannon. The past will come alive as park staff lead programs about Fort Pulaski and delve into the many stories of this important national monument. 

Wednesday Program Schedule (June & July)
10:00 Ranger Program
11:00 Cannon Firing
1:00 Cannon Firing
2:00 Ranger Program
3:00 Cannon Firing

Fort Pulaski National Monument’s hours are as follows:
Visitor Center: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Fort: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
The Park grounds close at 5:00 PM.
