Living historians and reenactors have always been an important part of telling the story of Fort Necessity. The historic weapons and living history programs here are a key aspect of our ability to tell the story of the Battle of Fort Necessity and to educate the public about those men who fought and died here over 265 years ago. We are committed to telling the story of the battle and those men who toiled here in the safest yet most historically accurate way possible.

Any individual or group who volunteers to participate in our living history and historic weapons programs must agree to abide by NPS Historic Weapons safety guidelines (see 18th century artillery manual and 18th century small arms manual). and by Fort Necessity's living history authenticity guidelines.
