The Bicentennial of the War of 1812 is FLYING HIGH with a special performance by the United States Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine on August 4 at 6:00 p.m.!  Live music, precision drill, ceremony, and the firing of the fort's evening gun make every twilight tattoo a memorable occasion! This spectacular ceremony is FREE.

The fort's musical past and present come together with performances of the Chesapeake Concert Band and the fifes and drums of the Fort McHenry Guard Field Music!

The Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team travels America and the world to inspire Air Force awareness among military and civilian audiences alike. The team personifies teamwork, professionalism and discipline of every Airman through precision drill maneuvers and representation. In over 40 years the team has visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.

Well known in the Baltimore area for their stirring patriotic music, the Chesapeake Concert Band specializes in marches by John Philip Sousa and music from various eras of American history. As a special feature of the ceremony, they will play "The Fort McHenry March" at the home of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The Fort McHenry Guard offers a unique historical experience at every performance. Dressed in the uniform of the 1814 defenders of Baltimore, the Guard conducts the evening muster as it was done in 1814. The evening program concludes with lowering of the 30 x 42-foot Star-Spangled Banner Flag and firing of the fort's evening gun. The evening ceremony is free and parking is provided on-site.
