~ Media Credentialing Requests Due by August 31, 2017 ~

WHAT: Tower of Voices Soundbreaking
The Soundbreaking for the Tower of Voices will initiate the final phase of memorial construction and take place on Sunday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m. and will last for approximately an hour. The ceremony is located on the future site of the Tower of Voices, near the entrance of the memorial. The National Park Service, National Park Foundation, Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial, Families of Flight 93, and invited guests will convene to break ground for the Tower and the ceremony will conclude with an audio airing of a chimes simulation.
September 11th Observance
The 16th Anniversary Observance will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, September 11. This start time was chosen to commemorate the time period during which the passengers and crew took action on the plane to thwart the terrorists.

Tower of Voices Soundbreaking - Sunday, September 10, 2017
- Media set-up begins: 1:00 p.m.
- Ceremony begins: 3:30 p.m.
September 11 Observance - Monday, September 11, 2017
- Media set-up begins: 7:00 a.m.
- Ceremony begins: 9:45 a.m.
(Outlets with live broadcasts the morning of September 10 and 11 may request access earlier than 7 a.m.; details in the RSVP below.)

MEDIA CREDENTIALS:
Event credentials issued by the National Park Service are required to obtain access to any of the designated media areas, including parking and coverage areas for the ceremonies. Credentialed members of the media interested in covering the event must RSVP HERE by August 31 at 6 p.m. EDT.
Additional information regarding media credentialing pick-up and other important coverage details will be sent in future technical advisories.
Please note - event credentials are required for both the Tower of Voices Soundbreaking on September 10 and the anniversary observance on September 11.
