Snack Bars and Seaside Restaurants
Seasonal snack bars can be found at or within a short walk from many National Park Service sites on Fire Island. Seaside dining is available within many of the communities, and at The Pier at Watch Hill restaurant.
A Variety of Options for Overnight Stays
You may stay overnight at several places within Fire Island National Seashore. There are also opportunities for overnight stays at Smith Point County Park, several bay side marinas, and numerous homes and small hotels within some of the seventeen communities on Fire Island.
The walk-in family campground at Watch Hill and the marinas at Watch Hill and Sailors Haven are open from mid-May to mid-October. These facilities are operated by a National Park Service concessioner, Fire Island Concessions, LLC. Both locations are accessible only by ferry, water taxi, or private boat.
Backcountry wilderness camping is also an option. Reservations and a fee are required. Visit www.recreation.gov for more information.
