Job Title: Auto Shop Assistant
Location: Pine Island Maintenance Yard, Homestead, FL
Project Duration: Ongoing Hours Per Week: Flexible, Mon-Fri Hours Per Month: Flexible
Description of Duties: Everglades National Park has a fleet of vehicles that need regular maintenance. The auto shop within the park performs many of the functions of a normal repair shop. Work is varied and encompasses many settings in and out of the park. The volunteer will maintain and update vehicle maintenance records, travel to town to pick up auto parts and supplies, and drop off and pick up vehicles being serviced outside of the park.
Benefits: The volunteer will gain vehicle repair experience, as well as data entry and computer skills.
Goal/Outcome of Position: To facilitate repairs and routine maintenance of park vehicles.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Desired: We are looking for someone who is interested in cars and car repair and who is willing to learn basic data entry and computer skills.
