Visitor Center Status

High Visitation & Parking
Expect long wait times between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Parking fills quickly and may operate as one car in, one car out. Arrive 1.5 to 2 hours early for scheduled tram tours. Call 305 221 8776 for current access conditions.

Vehicle Restrictions
Private vehicles are not permitted beyond the entrance road and parking lot. Access to the tram road and observation tower is by foot, bicycle, or tram only.

Parking Area Only
For visitor and wildlife safety, vehicles must remain in designated parking areas at all times.


Important Transportation Notice

Due to the remoteness of this area we are finding that visitors arriving by "on-demand" transportation services (UBER, Taxi, Lyft) are unable to acquire return transportation on those services. We suggest checking with your driver for return arrangements or have an alternative taxi option. There is no other public transportation to this site.

About the Shark Valley Area

The Shark Valley Visitor Center offers access to one of the most popular and accessible areas of Everglades National Park. Visitors can explore the 15 mile loop trail, enjoy panoramic views from the observation tower, and experience the park’s wildlife up close.

This area is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including alligators, wading birds, and other native species along the trail.
