Cultural Resource Preservation and Management

Cultural resources at Everglades National Park are numerous and diverse. Protecting and preserving these resources allow us to tell the story of Native Americans, early settlers, conservationists, and others that made their mark on an alluring and unique landscape. Donations to the Cultural Resource program allow the park to achieve these goals by performing a number of activities, including:

· Archaeological excavations on pre-historic and historic sites
· Stabilization of archeological sites damaged during storms
· Rehabilitation work on historic structures
· Oral histories of people associated with the park
· Acquisition of new items for the museum collection
· Conservation of objects in the museum collection
