Summer Hours are currently in effect :
May 24, 2025 - October 18, 2025
El Morro National Monument is open 7 days/week. The visitor center is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Time. Last admittance to the Headland Trail is at 3:00 pm. Last admittance to the Inscription Rock Loop trail is at 4:00 pm. Hikers must be off the trails by the time the visitor center closes at 5:00 pm. Hiking the trails after hours (once the visitor center closes) is not permitted.
Winter Hours:
October 19, 2025 - May 23, 2026
Beginning October 19, 2025, El Morro National Monument will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the off-season. The visitor center will be open 5 days/week, from Thursday through Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Time.
IMPORTANT, please note:
Admittance to the Headland Trail ends at 3:00 pm. Admittance to the Inscription Loop Trail ends at 4:00 pm. Please plan to arrive early enough to complete your hike before the visitor center parking lot closes at 5:00 pm. Hiking park trails after hours is not permitted.
