The Cerro Bandera fire is scheduled to transition to the Albuquerque Zone Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) on June 11, 2022, at 6:00 am. Resources today composed of hand crews, engines, and heavy equipment are securing line all flanks of the fire. Crews are focused on looking for opportunities to put in direct line that would secure the edge of the fire perimeter.
While large fire growth has significantly decreased, crew and engines will continue to work on securing the perimeter as several “hotspots” were discovered and extinguished today. Crews tomorrow will continue to work on hot spots on all flanks of the fire.
Additional Fire Information and Links:
• Do not fly drones over the fire. If you fly, we can't.
• Please respect road closures. Traffic on closed roads creates safety hazards for firefighters and emergency vehicles.
• Firefighting resources are extremely limited. It is critically important that we all do our part to prevent additional fire starts by following all campfire restrictions and fire-related closures.
Please call 911 to report a wildfire.
