The National Park Service (NPS) has completed environmental analysis and has selected an alternative to implement a 50-acre prescribed fire and associated ecosystem study in the Hunter Mountain area of Death Valley National Park (Park). The prescribed fire and ecosystem study, tiered from Death Valley National Park's approved Fire Management Plan, will protect historic resources while enabling the Park to proceed in an informed way toward its goal of using prescribed fire to return fire to native ecosystems.
