The National Park Service (NPS) has released a Finding of No Significant Impact document for a request for a Right-of-Way (ROW) permit to provide cellular telephone communications in the Stovepipe Wells area within Death Valley National Park (Park). The ROW permit will grant permission to Commnet of Nevada, LLC to construct infrastructure and components necessary to provide the service. The FONSI document details key point of the Environmental Assessment which was released to the public in December 2014. The FONSI details the Park's Selected Alternative which is to grant the ROW permit and allow the construction of the infrastructure. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act and Council on Environmental Quality regulations, the NPS has released this FONSI to the public. The FONSI is available to download from the NPS Planning, Environment and Public Comment website: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/CommnetFONSI. The document (on disc or hard copy) may be obtained by contacting the park at 760-786-3227. Additionally, hard copies of the document are available at libraries within the Death Valley Area including: Pahrump, Amargosa Valley, Bishop, Independence, Lone Pine, and Ridgecrest.
