Devils Tower to Waive Entrance Fees for Veterans Day
Devils Tower National Monument will join national park units across the country to honor our country’s veterans with free entry into the monument on November 11 -12. Americans are invited to enjoy this great land they’ve protected. In recognition of current and former servicemen and servicewomen, Devils Tower NM and all national parks will wave entrance fees throughout Veteran’s Day weekend.

Devils Tower Plans Prescribed Fire
Devils Tower National Monument will implement a prescribed burn this fall as conditions permit. Fire management officials from the Northern Great Plains Fire Office and Devils Tower National Monument plan to burn 171 acres in the North Terrace Unit during the next few weeks.

A New Annual Senior Pass Will Be Available at Devils Tower
A new Annual Senior Pass will be offered to any U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is 62 years of age or older. Beginning Monday, August 28, 2017 the new Annual Senior Pass will be available for $20 and the Lifetime Senior Pass will be available for $80.

Devils Tower to Celebrate the 101st Birthday of the National Park Service
Devils Tower National Monument joins 416 other National Park Service sites in celebration of the 101st birthday of the National Park Service. In recognition of this special day, Devils Tower will waive all entrance fees into the Monument on Friday, August 25.

Celebrating The Solar Eclipse at Devils Tower
On August 21, 2017, the continental United States will experience the first total solar eclipse in 38 years, a unique and perhaps once-in-a-lifetime event. The last solar eclipse in the United States was February 26, 1979.

Climbing Routes Reopen After Falcons Fly at Devils Tower
Climbing routes temporarily closed to protect nesting falcons have been reopened after peregrine falcon chicks successfully fledged from their nests on the Tower.

June Climbing Numbers Decrease For 2017
The 2017 voluntary June climbing closure for Devils Tower National Monument was successful in reducing numbers of climbers. There were 269 climbers for the month of June. This is a significant reduction from June, 2016 when 373 climbers ascended the Tower during the voluntary closure period.

The National Park Service Proposes Entrance Fee Increase at Devils Tower
The National Park Service proposes increasing the entrance fee to Devils Tower National Monument. In January, 2017, after civic engagement and receiving public support, Devils Tower National Monument raised entrance fees to the Fee Model Group #1 level of the National Park Service (NPS) fee pricing model.

Tourism to Devils Tower Creates Economic Benefits
A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 498,000 visitors to Devils Tower National Monument in 2016 spent $31,586,800 in communities near the park. That spending supported 500 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $39,646,100.
