Many statistics related to visitation of national parks are found online. This includes various reports of Devils Tower National Monument visitation.
As of 2017, the park sees close to 500,000 visitors per year. The bulk of that visitation comes between the end of May and the beginning of September. Close to 5,000 rock climbers visit the park each year to climb the Tower.
Most park infrastructure was developed in the 1950s and designed to accommodate far fewer visitors. As such, the summer season stresses aspects of the park experience; lines at the entrance station and difficulties parking are common from June through August. Despite the high volume of visitors and the small size of the park, there are still quiet places to be found and peaceful corners to experience.
