Denali Road Closure, Bus Route Changes, and Campground Evacuations Due to Erosion

DENALI PARK AK (August 30, 2025) – Due to erosion at the Teklanika Bridge caused by high water levels in Denali National Park and Preserve, park officials closed the Denali Park Road this evening to all traffic from Teklanika rest area westbound. Until the area reopens, bus traffic will turn around before the rest area. Igloo Creek Campground has also been evacuated.

Park staff will monitor conditions closely and evaluate the roadway for safety before reopening the road and impacted areas. Updates will be provided as they become available.
