Heavy precipitation in the form of both rain and snow has caused rivers and waterways in Denali National Park and Preserve to rise to their highest levels of the year. As a result, portions of the Denali Park Road are experiencing flooding, erosion, and snow accumulation.

Park officials have closed Denali Park Road at Mile 15 (Savage Check Station) until conditions improve, and bus services past the Savage Check Station have been suspended until further notice. Sanctuary Campground, Igloo Creek Campground, and Teklanika Campground have also been evacuated.

Once water levels recede, park staff will evaluate the roadway for safety before reopening the road and impacted areas.

Park managers will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as they become available.
