The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (ADOT&PF), in cooperation with the Alaska Division of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing to construct new pedestrian facilities, a rest area, and intersection improvements near the Denali National Park Boundary, MP 231 Parks Highway.

ADOT&PF is hosting an open house from 5-7 p.m., Feb. 8, 2017, at the Murie Science & Learning Center, to discuss proposed project scope and design changes as they relate to the innovations from the Construction Manager General Contractor (CMGC) process.

The project scope still includes constructing a new pedestrian bridge across the Nenana River, trail connections, a rest area, and intersection improvements. Construction is not planned until 2018. More information about the project is available at http://dot.alaska.gov/nreg/parks231/
